The Porsche 911 GT3 was released in 1999 has had a number of models culminating in the latest 991 GT3 RS that went into production in 2015. The car is a high performance version of the Porsche 911 and is intended for racing. Available as a coupe the car has the performance of a race car that you can drive on the road.
When the Porsche 911 GT3 was first introduced in 1999 the car was powered by a 3.6 Litre engine. The GT3 is now in its tenth model with 991 GT3 RS and he car now has a 4.0 Litre 368kW (500bhp).

With the Porsche 911 GT3 being described as a racer the performance is impressive. The 4.0 Litre engine is capable of a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph) (although this figure is likely limited for the street version of the car) and can accelerate from 0-100 kmh (0-62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds. So it is very quick.
The interior of the Porsche 911 GT3 is not designed for comfort. In the first version of the car the interior was just like a race car, removing all the luxuries including the sound proofing to save on weight. The later versions are a little more comfortable although the race car feel is still very much there.
The Porsche 911 GT3 has been very successful as a race car on the track. The GT3 has one a number of prestigious victories at Daytona (24 Hours of Daytona), The Spa 24 Hours and a number of victories in the 24 Hours Nurburgring event.
Porsche has sold over 14,000 GT3 cars since 1999 and they are a favourite of sports stars. Some celebrity owners of the Porsche 911 GT3 are Race Car Driver Mark Webber, Golfer Ricky Fowler and Fashion Designer Ralph Lauren.
